Hiking Pedra da Tartaruga do Rio de Janeiro
DESCRIPTION OF HIKING PEDRA DA TARTARUGA DO RIO DE JANEIRO
This is a circuit measures about 9 km, where most is inserted within the Pedra Branca (White Rock) State Park. This is a park that protects one of the few areas of Atlantic Forest that have resisted human interference and that is also part of the Transcarioca Trail, that is an ecotourism corridor in the city of Rio de Janeiro measuring 180 km.
You will have the opportunity to get to know Rio de Janeiro, from very interesting viewpoints, such as the Turtle Rock. It has this name because it is shaped like a turtle. From the top of this rock, on the head of the turtle, you will be able to take incredible photos with the most beautiful scenery of the entire coast of Rio de Janeiro's Wild Beaches.
To finish our tour, we will take you to visit the famous Telegrafo Stone is where you will have an incredible look, that reveals the Wild Beaches, Recreio and its famous Pedra do Pontal, Barra Tijuca and the imposing Pedra da Gávea, as well as the Restinga do Marambaia. This is a place that also retains some of our history: during World War II, this place housed a military station. Visiting Rio de Janeiro and getting to know the city of Rio de Janeiro through this angle is indispensable!
