RIO RUNNING TOUR AND SUGAR LOAF TOUR DESCRIPTION
Rio Running Tour and Sugar Loaf was the name chosen for this tour that will introduce you to the founding history of Rio de Janeiro and will show you several cultural and natural attractions of the city until we reach our destination: the Sugar Loaf.
You will get to know the history of one of the most important places for the carioca runners: Parque do Flamengo, the Tropical Central Park that receives every year the Rio de Janeiro International Half Marathon, the Marvelous City Challenge, and many other racing events.
You will know the history of the main neighborhoods of the city and various curiosities that they have, in addition you will know the monument that honors the founder of the city: Estácio de Sá. Finally we will walk a little more than 1km to the top of Urca Hill, one of the hills that is part of the Sugar Loaf group, from where we will watch the sunset.
The tickets for the cable car are not included in the tour, but are optional. This is because we can get back on the trail as soon as the sun goes down, but if you prefer, you can get off the cable car or even take the cable car to the highest point of the Sugar Loaf group. In this case, the tickets can be purchased on time and we can guide you to do it. If you do this tour in the morning, we are going to hike down the trail.
Note: Most of the tour is on the flat floor, with only 1km of easy hiking, with obstacles that are easy to overcome.
Cultural and Natural Attractions:
Paris Square, Flamengo Park, Monument to the Dead of the Second World War, Estácio de Sá Monument, Enseada de Botafogo, Urca, Praia Vermelha, Urca Hill and Sugar Loaf (opcional).
